View from South East Crater to the south
I surrounded the SEC which was quite difficult because of the steep flank, which was still quite hot (even too hot to sit down for a while to empty your shoes of some small lava stones). The heavy gas emission was another challenge. However at lucky moments the view cleared and you had this nice overview: in front the flank of the South East Crater, on the right the cones from the 2002/03 eruption (behind Torre del Filosofo), in the middle the Laghetto Crater and behind it Montagnola. In the far distance you even could see Catania and the coastline of Sicily.
