Lava and oranges

After passing Messina, coming out of the tunnel near Taormina entering the region of Catania we couldn't believe what we saw! During our trip to Stromboli the activity at Mount Etna had reassumed! Several big rivers of lava (even more than before our trip) were emerging from the 2800 m fracture, flowing down into Valle del Bove. We stopped and took this nice picture including a citrus plantation as foreground.
