Index: Description The city of Paternò was already inhabited 3500 years ago. Festivities and events
- Barbara saint, saint of the city, 4 th of December.
The festivity is loved and its celebration lasts one week. It seems that during a lavic eruption, its relics were brought near Ragalna and miraculously the lavic flow was arrested. Several processions follow one another in order to celebrate this Saint, whose musical celebrations reach the apex the 4 and 5 of December with the procession that accompanies its simulacrum, games in public square, and bands.
