Typical Products The cooking tradition of this city is based on simple typical products. Among first plates it dominates the Pasta with the legumes, with asparagus and the fennel wild; among second plates, typical is the meat of skimmed calf, seasoned with tomato, onion and parsley. For the greediest there are a lot of sweets, among these the famous torroncini of the cavalier Condorelli, the fried raviole and full of cottage cheese, the cicilìu (leaf tof biscuit with fresh eggs), and biscuit Bersaglieri covered of chocolate or glassa. Festivities and events - Saint Lucia, 13 of December.
She is the Female saint of the city, whose religious festivity is indeed loved from its citizens. The ritual begins already the afternoon of 12 December, moment in which the relics of the Saint go in procession ;in the evening instead we can see the parade of one of the wagons prepared from the devout people of several quarters. 13 December is the heart of the festivity: after a great pyrotechnic show, the simulacre of the Saint is carried around the streets of the country on a fercolo of silver.
