The legend of cola pesce E-mail
On the mythical figure of Cola Pesce, were born a lot of legends. One of these deals with the young boy Nicholas, son of a fisherman, that loves so much  the sea and all the sea creatures, to succeed to communicate with them. A malediction of the mother, had transformed it in a being half man and half fish, therefore he had start living both in Sicily  waters and in earth.

Many times he used to return among human beings in order to tell to them what was hidden in sea depth, and which creatures lived in it. Therefore  The reputation of Cola Pesce  reached the king of Messina, which with his daughter Costanza had left to the country of the being half man and half fish. The king was told by him about all its travels in sea, and many times he had sent him back in order to discover which other mysteries were hidden. But very soon the king discovered that his daughter Costanza and Cola Fish fell in love,  and therefore had forced it to do a risky enterprise , from which perhaps it could never return: the circumnavigation of the Sicily.

Costanza uselessly tried to dissuade the father from this enterprise that would risked the life of her love but. For the desperation she had drawn herself in deep waters of messina, in which was searched for days. All  believed that she was dead , in reality Cola had saved her making her the same malediction that his mother made him , transforming her therefore in fish. So they kept on living in the sea and loving each other.

It is believed that they discover that the Sicily is held by  three columns, one of which unfortunately worn out. For the great love that they felt for the   island, they remained there to hold this column to avoid the sinking of Sicily .
