How to arrive and move around the islands...If you come from the Center or North of Italy (Rome, Milan, etc...) the best way to arrive in the Aeolian islands is by ferries from Naples -Napoli to Stromboli- (Week departs) From Sicily (Messina and Milazzo) and Reggio Calabria there are frequent ferries and hydrofoils.(Daily) Prices starts from 9 € and can be purchased in the port of Milazzo and Naples. To move around the islands the best way to do is to hire a motor scooter or a "Ape car" (a mean of transfer with 3 wheels) To move from an island to another you can use the Hydrofoil that link Stromboli, Vulcano, Salina and Lipari daily (10 min). For summer vacations, the best months to go are June, July, August and September. But i suggest you to choose June and September because the other months are crowded.
