The manifestation is dedicated to the Mediterranean cultural patrimony. It will be from 18 June 2007 to 15 April 2008. "The ways of Sea" will start from Terrasini, in Palermo, and will stop in some Mediterranean museums like Venice, Barcelona, Marseilles, Naples and others that have joined to the extension. 

The event will be subdivided in sections, regarding specific topics. Every museum will expose its treasures. 

The thematic extension sections are:

• "The knowledge of hands", dedicated at the boats construction techniques.  
• "The games of exchange", migratory flows and trade routes.  
• "Nautilus", dedicated at the sea library.  
• "The power of symbols", symbolic force of the sea products.  
• "The other face of sky", regarding geology, biology and meteorology.  

For this event, the museum of Terrasini will expose the "Rostro di Levanzo" from III sec. a.C. An unique of a kind object that belonged to a roman ship that fought the cartaginese fleet on 241 a.C.
