At 16:00 of the 29 April 2007, after approximately an month of inactivity, the Etna is waking up. The Mt Etna eruptive activity in 2007 is returned in the south-east crater, from which comes outside a lava flow that flows in the volcanic desert of the Bove Valley. The seismic of the Ingv (national Institute of geophysicist and volcanology) have found towards 12:00 an increment of the seismic activity on the volcano. Around the 16:00 it's begun the eruptive activity with emission of lava and volcanic bombs, with emissions of ash. Has not been possible an overflight in helicopter because of the cloud sky, but there has been an inspection on foot by the experts. At the hours 23:00, the sky is without clouds and the explosive activity is visible from all the east Sicily. For the hikers interested in Etna excursions to visit the eruptive scenes, for security reasons, it is not possible to see directly the lava flows, is not possible to go up beyond 2,900 meters. For a visit is advised the use of trekking boots because of the snow presence in the paths.
