Golf camp n°1 In Castiglione of Sicily, Etna north (S.S.120 Km.200-Rovittello Street) you can find “PICCIOLO GOLF CLUB”. It's a field of 18 holes dipped in the forests with spectacular sight of the Etna. At little distance from Taormina, from the Cave of the Alcantara and from Linguaglossa, the Picciolo Golf Club is easily reachable: - Airport Fontanarossa - Catania

More info here: http://www.santateresa.it For who wants to play this sport, here some useful rules and advices - How is a golf camp composed?Approximately, a distance of 18 holes has a length between the 5,000 and the 7,000 meters. Every hole is composed by the “tee” that are the departure area, by the “fairway” that it is the way and by the “green” that it is the arrival area. Here there is the hole with the various obstacles. A camp has 18 holes of several lengths:
- “par 3” are long from 50 to 250 meters
- “par 4” from 250 to 450 meters
- “par 5” from 450 to 600 meters
- Which equipment is used? The set of golf is composed by club, ball and other accessories like gloves and shoes. At the moment of the purchase, you must consider your ability's level, that is your handicap. With this, you can proceed to the choice of the equipment. The club is formed by three pieces:
- The grip
- The shaft (the stick to adapt to your game's modality)
- The final part to hit the ball.
- Italian Federation Golf - The card To become a real golf player, you must become associates of the F.I.G (Federatione Italina Golf) by doing demand and acquiring the card of the federation. With this, you'll be “not qualified player” and have the “green card”. To become “classified player” you must exceed an exame regarding the rules of the golf game. - How much coast to play golf? The cost to play golf regard the card, the lessons and the equipment. The registration to a circle, for the card, is obligatory to practice this sport.
Exist Three circles: From those with 18 holes to those with 9. - The circles with 18 holes are expensive: approximately 1500 € per year.
- Those with 9 holes are more economic. And the minor circles are more convenient, because the associative price is 500 € per year.
- To play in a field where you are not associate, you must pay the green free to the income that is from 30 € to 60 €.
The price of the lessons depends on the master qualification and it is from the 15 € to the 30 € every 30 minutes. - A equipment for a beginner is around the 500 €, while one for professionals can arrive also to the 2000 €.
The cost of the balls is of approximately 3 € everyone but you can buy old used balls and the cost is of approximately 1 €. - The golf shoes are from the 80 € to the 120 € and the gloves from the 10 € to the 20 €.
