The coves of the Etna are the only cove formed  by volcanic origin existing in all Europe. There are more than Two hundreds cove  available and, up to the present, are discovered of new. These draw origin from the outflow of the magma during a volcanic eruption, and the times of formation are much short, vary from one week to some month. Essentially we can find two types of volcanic coves: the lava tunnels or galleries  of lavic sliding, and the coves in fracture.

• The lava Tunnel 

These are the remains of the culverts in which slid inside lava of the tap. They are constituted from a enough wide and long main culvert, and are for this reason that is simplest to visit.

• Coves in fracture

These have a vertical course, for which they are difficult to explore if not with particular speleology equipments.

• Cove of Ices, to approximately 2000 meters high always on the depositor North, sure more “famous” and known of the coves of the Etna.
  

• Cove of the Vannette, near the Monte Shelter Maletto, to approximately 1700 meters high , on the depositor North of the Volcano.
  

• Cove of the Raspberries, to  1700 high, depositor North.

• Cove of the Females, to 1650 high, depositor North.

• Cove of the Palombe, to 1560 high, depositor North.

• Cove of the Ladri, to 1550 high approximately, East depositor to little distance from the “Mareneve”, that it connects Fornazzo to Linguaglossa.

• Cove of the three Levels, to 1600 high, in the depositor South, near the Contrada of the House of the Bishop.

• Mount cove Jump of the Dog, on the depositor South, in the territory of the Common of Pedara  

• Monte cove Nunziata, in the depositor North of the volcano, in the territory of Bronte

• Cove of the Montagnola, to  2100 high approximately, on the depositor South.

• Cove of the Calcarazzi Mounts, to 1900 high approximately, on the depositor South, near M. advanced Silvestri.

• Monte cove Stornello, on the depositor East North/, near the Bevacqua Houses, in the Common of Piedimonte Etneo
  

• Coves of House of the Bishop, on the depositor South, near the locality the House of the Bishop.

• Cove of the snow, on the depositor North/the West, in locality Slowly of the Crickets in the Common of Bronte.

• Cove of Aci, on the depositor North, in Sciara locality of the Follone in the Common  of Randazzo
