Type - Specialistic museum

It is the house in which the famous Sicilian writer Giovanni Verga born and died. It's a palace of XIX the century and it is made up of various atmospheres: the drawing-room, the library and the bedroom. Very interesting is the library, which conserve 2500 volumes belonged to the writer of the "Malavoglia".

The Museum of the Sea collects tools and nautical instruments donate by the fishermen. You can find vary types of fishing net, “fusi” used to hoist the net on the boat, vary containers that served to transport the fish captured. There are other things like amphoras for the wine transfers from the greek-roman age.

Type - Museum of sacred art

The Diocesan Museum is closely to the historical, cultural and religious vicissitudes of our territory. There are nine rooms that represent several thematic like Sant' Agate and her ancient treasures of the Cathedral.

The castle, going back to XI century, today is well conserved thanks to several the restorations . In the enter floor  we can find the ancient chapel with traces of frescoes; in the first floor the room that today is called weapons hall, a wide hall exactly, where four double lancet windows allow the lighting system; in the second floor  a great hall with  two double lancet windows; and the terrace from which it is possible to admire a beautiful landscape.

            Taormina
  •  Palazzo Corvaja
Palazzo Corvaja was realized during the Arabic domination in Taormina. In fact its structure has in its base a tower  that remembers the" Arabs the sacred"-  “ Ka `bah”. It's the dice that, according to Maometto, was the first temple raised to God from Abrham to La Mecca.

The palace was realized in the beginnings of 1400 in order to allow the reunions of the first sicilian Parliament of 1411. Currently Palazzo Corvaja is the center of the "Etno-anthropological" Museum in which are exposed objects from the art and traditions of the period comprised between the XVI and the XIX century.

  •  The Svevo castle
Going back to the XIII century, the Svevo castle in past was called “Mastio” because was a  fortification. In the anciently it was the room in which there were the prisoners after they have been tortured, today it has been realized the Museum of the Limbs Peasants.
  •  Museum of the Sicilian Pupi
The Pupi accommodates in this museum is all dressed in war dresses, and represents the famous cycle of the “chanson de geste” whose protagonists are Carl Magno and its knights.  The armors have been reconstructed around to years 1912 - 1925, from Emilio. Part of the Pupi, pertaining to the same collection, is found near the Palermo Museum of the Marionettes.

  •  Archaeological museum Vagliasindi
The museum conserve the archaeological collection  from the cavalier  Paul Vagliasindi by the half of the 800 sec., thanks to fortuitous discoveries in the feud of the same Vagliasindi, and, thanks to the diggings completed in the situated land in contrada S.Anastasia, that gave to the light other precious reperts.
Other diggings in the same zone completed from Salinas, director of the Archaeological Museum of Palermo, and subsequently from Paul Bears, director of the Bureau of the Sicily orient, showed that the land was occupied from one large "necropolis":infact were discovered thirty coffins said at "cappuccina", that were covered from large "tegoloni".

In the museum, visitors can see the exposure of minerals, lava, volcanic bombs and science videos. A collection of blowups, describes the various eruptions of the last twenty years. Moreover can be admired a plastic of the entire etnee territory in scale.

The museum collects mainly objects and tools used in the past by ancient Etnean people. Here are rebuilt all the ancient environments disappeared.

  •  Museum of the Presepio
The museum accommodates approximately one hundred presepiali pieces, that can be considers true and own works of art. There are some of varies types, like those in leccese cartapesta, in sicilian terracotta and pugliese, even in wood of cirmolo coming from the Trentino and with Neapolitan figures.

  •  Mediterranean Aquarius of Giarre
The Aquarius, distributed on two plans, contains fourteen tubs that host many sea organisms  of the Mediterranean, coming from sandy depth, and from the abysmal sea environment.

            Bronte
  •  The Nelson' Ducea
King Ferdinand of the two Sicily, was forced in 1798 to abandon the reign of Naples because of the revolutionary motions, and succeeded to shelter itself to Palermo with the aid of Nelson. The year after, Ferdinand, returned to having its throne,  wanted to thank those services and granted the Abbey of Maniace, the earth and the city of Bronte. The complex of the Ducea, characterized from a quadrangular perimeter on which buildings with and two elevations extend, is famous for its big park that extends outside and inside for approximately four hectares.

  •  Permanent show of Natural Sciences
Inaugurated in 2005, the show is divided in several sections: that geologic, paleontological volcanology one and, that botany and micologic one, and at last that anthropological zoologic one . In particular, that volcanology collection collects piroclastici of the Etna and of the Aeolian Islands, samples of  etnean lava, pillows of Acicastello, Mount Scalpello and the Iblei.

  •  Castle of Adrano

Type - Archaeological regional museum

The castle of Adrano, that is height about 34 meters, was founded by the count Ruggero in 1070, and was built up like outpost for the conquest of the Catania plain. It was inhabited until 1600, period during which collapse all the ceilings in wood left exposed unfortunately, to the inclemencies. Today, restored and center of the museum, it has become the most important attraction of the city.

  •  The House of the Nespolo
It is the house in which Giovanni Verga makes the Malavoglia reside, the family of fishermen protagonist of its novel. On its inside can be found the old tools used from the fishermen and the photos taken from the film of Luchino Visconti, the earth shakes, shot in 1948 and whose actors were the true fishermen of Acitrezza.
