Kayak championship in Lago Nicoletti, Enna
Sunday 1 July, on the lago Nicoletti will be the regional Kayak championship. This is the regional title of 500 and 1000 meters.
Lago Nicoletti is an artificial lake formed by a dam on ‘50. It is famous for the sport activities practiced like kayak, fishing and canoa.

The “Cous Cous Fest” in San Vito lo Capo, Trapani
Between the 25 to 30 september will be the 10° edition of the “Cous Cous Fest� in San Vito lo Capo. This is a contest where the best Mediterranean chef will conquer the prize of the best cous cous plate. During the event there will be a space for tastings of typical products of the Mediterranean cuisine. There will be the participation of the famous Italian chef Gianfranco Vissani.

The “Blues&Wine Soul Festival� in the temples of Agrigento
From 19 to 22 july will be the 5° edition of the Blues&Wine Soul Festival. This manifestation previews music events and the best Italian wines tastings. On the 20 July there will be an appointment with the “Galà of the Wine and the Music� dedicated to the products of Agrigento.

The review “Inycon 2007″ dedicated to the wine of Menfi, Agrigento
From the 29 June to the 1 July, the Common of Menfi will accommodate the most ancient sicilian manifestation dedicated to the wine: “Inycon 2007″. The protagonist of the event, naturally, is the wine produced in Sicily. There will be apoointments in the public squares, in the garden of the ancient palaces and in the streets of the historical center, with conventions, encounters with the wine producers and naturally tastings of typical products.

The “Fishermen Village” between the myth of Scilla and Cariddi in Messina
The appointment is on the 4 July 2007 in Messina, when there will be the first edition of “Spaday”. The manifestation dedicated to the sword fish. It represents also an occasion to discover Capo Peloro, the sea between Scilla and Cariddi.
There will be shows of the ancient fishemern tools and instruments making and a photo gallery titled : “Fish in extension”.
Now available the reserve of the “Zingaro” between San Vito lo Capo and Scopello - Trapani
The natural reserve of “Zingaro” will be available again after its closure cause a landslide in March. The new part is that one at south close to Scopello. In the next weeks all the Reserve will be fruibile. At the moment every Saturday and Sunday is possible to do excursions and tour of the reserve with departure at 9,00 o’clock from Scopello.

This is a completely natural area in the Western coast of Sicily between the Gulf of Castellammare, in the peninsula of San Vito lo Capo for 7 Km. The Reserve accommodates beyond 650 species of vegetables and 39 species of birds.
The main tour of the Reserve is the “Center path”. The best attractions points in the itinerary are: The Naturalistic Museum, Cave of Varo, the center of the Reserve, the cave of Uzzo, the Museum of the Peasant Civilization and the Museum of the navy Activities.

At Terrasini, Palermo - “The Ways of Sea”
From the 18 June 2007 to 15 April 2008 there will be a manifestation dedicated to the Mediterranean cultural patrimony. This event will start from Terrasini, in Palermo, and will stop in some Mediterranean museums like Venice, Barcelona, Marseilles, Naples and others that have joined to the extension.

The event will be subdivided in specific topics.

  • “The knowledge of hands”, dedicated at the boats construction techniques.
  • “The games of exchange”, migratory flows and trade routes.
  • “Nautilus”, dedicated at the sea library.
  • “The power of symbols”, symbolic force of the sea products.
  • “The other face of sky”, regarding geology, biology and meteorology.

For this event, the museum of Terrasini will expose the “Rostro di Levanzo” from III sec. a.C. An unique of a kind object that belonged to a roman ship that fought the cartaginese fleet on 241 a.C.
